Austin QuiltCon 2020

Austin QuiltCon 2020

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic I attended QUILTCON, A Modern Quilt Guild in Austin, TX on Friday, February 22nd. Each year, hundreds of quilters come from all over the word to debut their work and to search for vendors. Every quilt I saw was beautiful, styles varied from Appliqué to Patchwork to Group/Bee Quilts mounted for observation throughout the Austin Convention Center.

Over the years, I have attended my fair share of trade shows and events, naturally I've become quiet in-tune with the friendships these shows cultivate between different travelers who come from other cities or states. Everyone floated around with a latte in hand soaking up the creative atmosphere.

As far as fabric, the show included fat quarters, quilting solid cottons, batiks, and other unique patterns with a variety of saturated colors. There were various vendors such as Juki offering quilting, sewing and fabric ideas.

As a fabric seller for Mosaic Fabrics, It was refreshing to be on the other side of the business, surrounded by quilters who are were so passionate about their craft. After all, QuiltCon does claim to be a Modern Quilt Guild!

Here are a few of the beautiful quilts and fabrics I captured.
